Logistics of Enrolment
Once you’ve enrolled and your payment is confirmed, you’ll be sent an email with your log-in details to log in to your special student account where you can get started with your course.
The Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course is easy to navigate—it’s all clearly laid out and you don’t have to be a ‘techy’ person to figure it out!
The prenatal course consists of 6 modules while the postnatal course contains 2 modules. Each module consists of a varied and stimulating mix of video lectures, sample video classes, audio tutorials, guided journalling/review (within the prenatal course only) and accompanying reading from the course manuals. Have your yoga mat (and sometimes other props like bolster, brick as we’ll clearly specify) at the ready as there will be practical segments to some of the lectures. The focus of this course is on ‘experiential learning’ so that you can experience many of the recommended practices yourself.
At the end of each module there are short quizzes (see below under “Course Assessment Requirements”) to keep you engaged and ensure you’re integrating the information we’re giving you, and to help you prepare for the learning to come in the next module.
Your attendance at our live Q&A sessions is not compulsory but can be very helpful to your learning. If you can’t make the live times, you can pre-submit questions and watch the recording later.
Please note, your access to our live Q&A sessions is only while you are completing the course. Your access to the live sessions ceases when you certify however you will be able to access these sessions again as a graduate teacher via our new membership coming your way soon!
Course Assessment Requirements
At the end of each module you will be required to complete a short quiz that helps you solidify the learning. An 80% pass mark is required, but don’t worry, the quizzes are multiple choice/ true-false and you can re-do the quiz as many times as you need to.
You are not required to submit journal entries.
At the end of the course content you will be required to complete a prenatal and postnatal ‘case study’ written assignment. Upload this to the website (very easy) and we will be in touch for you to book a one on one 60 minute session with one of our senior teachers at a time that suits you.
During this session, our teacher will give you feedback on your case studies and answer any lingering questions you have about the training.
Then, all you need to do is complete our Online Feedback Form (your feedback is soooo important to us!) and you will receive your Completion Certificate that you can either print out or keep digitally to send to registration bodies (eg: Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia) to gain all-important RPYT status or CPD (Continuing Professional Development Points).
A Completion Certificate (PDF electronic file) is provided once you’ve completed the course. The total course hours on this completion certificate is 85 non-contact hours.
If you are a 200 hr RYT teacher under Yoga Alliance, this course will certify you as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher. However for RPYT certification, Yoga Alliance require you to complete 30 hours of Prenatal Yoga teaching after you complete the course with us.
You can also claim this course as Continuing Education points under Yoga Australia or other local governing bodies for yoga in your area.
Yoga Australia members are required to complete ongoing professional development to keep their membership current. By completing the Bliss Baby Yoga Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course, teachers are able to accrue some of these necessary professional development hours as well as to gain the all-important knowledge and skills to launch them into this specialised area of women’s health.
(The following information re: Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance requirements for CPD was true at the time of publishing – please check the Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance websites via links below to confirm their requirements).
For Yoga Australia members, 12 CPD points (Continuing Professional Development) must be accrued each year to keep your membership active. You can read more here.
Yoga Australia assess the hours for CPD based on the following:
- Passive activities like watching a video or listening to recorded audio earn 0.5 CPD points per hour
- Interactive learning is in-person or online activity that involves discussion, feedback, examination or review, and this earns 1 point per hour
Our Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course is made up of material that requires review (journalling), quizzes (examination) on the content, submitted case studies as well as live Q&A hence our content can be considered 1 CPD point per hour. The reading elements can be considered a passive activity. Hence this Bliss Baby Yoga Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course of 85 hours can be claimed as 75 CPD points (31 hours of video requiring review, 4 hours of audio, live Q&A sessions, journalling (1.5 hours) case studies (2 hours), live one on one call and quizzes (approx 1.5 hrs) equalling min. 65 hours in total) plus approximately 20 hours of reading at 0.5 points per hour.
FAQ: Is this course registered with Yoga Alliance?
Yes, this course is a RPYT certified Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course here.
Please see Yoga Alliance’s requirements for being awarded RPYT 85 hr certification, stating that you require the following prerequisites before submitting your Bliss Baby Yoga RPYT certificate to them:
- 200 hr RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher)
- Have completed 30 hours of prenatal yoga teaching experience since completing your RPYT training.
FAQ: If I want to be able to teach Prenatal Yoga classes, do I have to already be a qualified yoga teacher to enrol in your online course?
Our Bliss Baby Yoga training courses are designed as post-graduate study for qualified yoga teachers, and are not alone designed to qualify graduates to teach prenatal / postnatal yoga classes to the public if they are not yet a qualified yoga teacher (having completed a minimum Level 1 / 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training).
However you may be a pregnant yoga practitioner, midwife or doula who is doing this for your own knowledge and therefore will gain much wisdom from the training and will learn to safely modify your own practice for pregnancy.
To gain the most from our courses we recommend you have at least 6-12 months consistent prior yoga practice experience – so that you are familiar with the basic postures / practices / terminology and can therefore gain the most from this training. We strongly recommend undertaking a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in addition to our specialised teaching before teaching any public classes, so that you can be insured as a qualified yoga teacher.

For answers to Frequently Asked Questions about our Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course delivery and accreditation, including the following, please click here.
- Why might I want RPYT Certification?
Yoga Alliance are a world recognised body that sets the ethical and educational framework for yoga teachers and schools in order to ensure high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga teaching in communities around the world.
They offer differing types of yoga profession credentials, which serve as markers of high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga teaching.
Their Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) status is seen as the ‘gold standard’ in the world of teaching Prenatal Yoga with some yoga studios requesting it as a pre-requisite of their teachers.
While our separate Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Trainings are sufficient by itself to become a highly competent and safe Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher, an RPYT certification gives you the highest possible credentials.
- What is the difference between the separate Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Courses and the combined Prenatal & Postnatal RPYT Certification Stream Course?
Our separate 50 hr core Prenatal and 25 hour Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Courses qualify you to become a highly confident, safe and knowledgeable teacher. You can register the hours from these courses as Continuing Education (CEP or CE) hours with Yoga Alliance or your local governing body for yoga.
This RPYT Certification Course invites you to go deeper into your training. Not only does it include the two courses above, but it also includes access to our live Q&A sessions, a one on one call with one of our senior teachers as well as a bonus lecture on Yogic Philosophy for Pregnancy. This course comprises of 85 hours total and gives your registration as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher under Yoga Alliance.
- Do the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses certify me to be able to teach in the USA/UK?

“Nadine is clearly passionate about women’s health. You can tell has many years of practise and teaching under her belt as she was professional but so relatable. I look up to her and I love her style – it was an absolute pleasure to be in the session with her and guided by her through the practise” Simone
Ana Davis (E-RYT 500, RPYT, Yoga Australia Registered Level 3 Senior teacher, qualified Doula, Dip. Remedial Massage, B.A. Honours) has long been passionate about exploring the benefits of yoga and meditation for women’s monthly and life cycles.
Ana has been a keen yoga practitioner since 1990, teaching yoga since 1996, and in 2005 founded Bliss Baby Yoga – offering specialised yoga teacher training courses in the areas of Prenatal, Postnatal, Restorative and Women’s Yoga. In 2013, Ana also founded Moving with the Moon which offers workshops and classes on yoga for the menstrual cycle, menopause and fertility.
Ana’s first book “Moving with the Moon: Nurturing Yoga, Movement and Meditation for Every Phase of your Menstrual Cycle” was released in late-2018 and is now available in both print-book and E-book formats.
The online courses have been written and recorded by Ana Davis. Online course students will experience the core audio lectures with Ana, as well as see Ana teaching a real Prenatal Yoga class and Mums n Bubs Yoga class, demonstrating how to incorporate baby in yoga postures, and can practise along with Ana’s prenatal Pawanmuktasana sequence, Sun Salutations, and pre & postnatal restorative video classes. Ana is also a facilitator on our Online Level 1 Fertility Yoga Teacher Training Course and Online Level 1 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training course.
Kind words about Ana from our Online Course graduates:
“Ana – you are such an amazing and gifted person and teacher. We’re all lucky you discovered your calling and can share your knowledge with us. Your communication is really clear, and your voice is so pleasant and easy to listen to that the audio lectures were a real pleasure.”
“I loved Ana and the way she taught and how knowledgeable she is. I looked at a lot of online classes for this and was very happy I decided to take this one.”
Anna Watts has been a beloved guest teacher for Bliss Baby Yoga courses throughout Australia for some years now. Anna, a mother to two beautiful, adult daughters, is a professional Childbirth Educator and Doula Trainer who has been working with pregnant women and couples for over 25 years. Anna shares her wisdom on birth through the the video lecture “Stages of Labour” as well as the “Celebration of Birth” yoga nidra and birth visualisation audio as part of our Online Complete: Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course.
Kind words about Anna from our Online Course graduates:
“I liked the info on stages of labour by Anna Watts, as I’m currently pregnant myself and have been avoiding research on this area (I thought it might freak me out!). But session 5 has actually reassured, rather than frightened me. I am feeling better about my own impending labour.”
“Anna Watts is the warmest and most gentle person and that really comes across in the video! Anyone who has her as a doula would be so lucky.”
“Anna – you are also wonderful. Watching and listening to you in the video lecture was one of the most memorable parts of the course for me, your explanations and commentary throughout was really gentle, nurturing and accessible. (I was watching it through the eyes of a newish mum who had a very difficult birth). I feel if I am ever pregnant again, I will be more confident about the birth process, and a lot of this has to do with seeing that video and hearing your commentary and input.”

Our Online Prenatal and Postnatal course trainees will have the opportunity to meet Rosie (or Star / Kanako / Mari) face-to-face during the final one-on-one Skype session.
Kind words about Rosie from our Online Course graduates:
“I had my final Skype session with Rosie and her energy was definitely felt even though it was via Skype. She gave me some great suggestions for my teaching and clarified a few points. More than anything I felt that she was a supportive mentor, and as a teacher sometimes it is hard to let our guard down and open ourselves up to vulnerability since it is usually us people are coming to for guidance and learning. I am thinking of booking more Skype sessions with her – it was a true blessing to find this training, for so many reasons: the resources, the cost is so reasonable, the lecture format is timed on our own schedule which is perfect if you have a scattered schedule with teaching, etc and also for the personal growth and development. I do feel a part of the Bliss Baby community now…thank you.”
Kanako Yajima has been practicing yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2006. She has been trained in various styles of yoga including Solomon Yogalates, Ishta System with Rachel Zinman, and Vini Yoga & the Five Element Form with Peter Clifford. She has completed a number of Pre & Postnatal Yoga trainings and has been working with pregnant women and new moms since 2010.
Kanako has also worked internationally in many teacher trainings, retreats and workshops as both interpreter (for Japanese groups) and as a teacher trainer.
Thanks to her experience as a yoga translator/interpreter and her dedication to knowledge and growth, she has been immersed in various teachings including yoga philosophy, anatomy & physiology, pranayama and meditation and her versatile and unique teaching styles reflect that extensive knowledge and experience.
She is grateful everyday for being a mother to her daughter as it has been the most challenging yet beautiful and transformational yoga sadhana in life and she loves sharing the magic of yoga practices with students from that heart-felt space.
Kanako is a Senior Course Facilitator for our Bliss Baby Yoga Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training courses, and works as a translator for our Japan-based Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training courses.
Our Online Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course trainees will have the opportunity to meet Kanako (or Rosie / Star / Mari) face-to-face during the final one-on-one Skype session.
Kind words about Kanako from our Course graduates:
“I found the Skype session enormously helpful. Kanako was super thorough, precise and very thoughtful. Clearly she cares about this work and that too was inspiring.”
“I loved my Skype call with Kanako! She went through my assignment thoroughly, with great explanations, examples and alternate options. Even though only 1 hour, I really enjoyed and benefited from it.”
“The Skype might have been my favourite part! Kanako was so helpful, and demonstrated her favourite postures and explained reasons for everything. She was very knowledgeable and experienced.”

Claire is a mother of two and enjoys living in beachside Scarborough, Western Australia, where she shares yoga with the local community.
“This course was such a wonderfully comprehensive guide to working with pregnant and postnatal women in a really holistic way. I especially enjoyed the emphasis on meeting women wherever they are at, and being aware of where they are energetically and spiritually at this time in their life. I feel like that is something that so few courses cover but is so very important.”
– Lilly, South Australia
