A Feminine Approach to Yoga
Bliss Baby Yoga has taught over 3000 women a new way to approach their bodies and their lives, to gain a deeper sense of honouring their femininity and embracing a receptive space.
As we know, yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition that was originally created by men, for men.
What we’re doing when practising women’s yoga is appropriating yoga for the unique needs of women and our cyclical bodies, as we cycle through each month of our menstrual cycle. And also, as we move through the unique phases of our feminine lives.
The kind of yoga that we do when we are menstruating is very different from the kind of yoga that we do when we are ovulating.
Feminine Yoga is about listening to our body when it asks us to slow down and listen to our specific needs. It’s about tuning in to our heart, gut instincts, our womb instinct.
Ahimsa is our overarching principle. It means Compassion, Self-compassion. It helps us foster an off-the-mat practice, bringing yoga into our daily life.
