Frequently Asked Questions

Online Training Courses

What are the pre-requisite requirements to enrol in the Bliss Baby Yoga® online training courses?

You don’t have to be a yoga teacher to enrol in our Bliss Baby Yoga Courses, but you will get the most out of our courses if you have at least 6-12 months prior yoga experience.  A solid background in yoga means you’ll be more familiar with the basic yoga postures, practices and terminology.

And please note that our teacher training courses are designed as post-graduate study for qualified yoga teachers, or further learning for keen yoga practitioners who are undertaking, or plan to undertake, a full, minimum 200 hr general Teacher Training Course.

Our Bliss Baby Yoga courses are not alone designed to qualify graduates to teach prenatal / postnatal yoga classes to the public if they are not yet a qualified yoga teacher (having completed a minimum Level 1 / 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training).   We strongly recommend undertaking a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in addition to our specialised courses before teaching any public classes, so that you can be insured as a qualified yoga teacher and have the necessary general yoga teaching knowledge (eg: around sequencing and class management).

Please note, the above does not apply to our Doula Training where you do not need any background in yoga or yoga training to do this course.

What sort of support is available for your courses?

You have direct access to our teachers via e mail at anytime during your course. We endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours on a business day or 48 hours over a weekend.

You can also purchase a video call with one of our senior facilitators to discuss one on one any questions you might have about the training or your teaching.

Alternatively we also have our live mentoring groups which are a pack of 4 sessions with one of our teachers, within a small group. You can find out more here.

I don't live in Australia. Are your courses still suitable for me?

We train students from all over the world.

As a long standing, English speaking Yoga teacher training school, we have taught hundreds of students from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, China, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Bali, New Zealand and more.

Our courses are recognised globally under Yoga Alliance and other local governing bodies of yoga.

For our live content and one on one video calls, we accommodate varying time zones world wide and can also offer calls/classes in fluent Japanese.

Do I have to be a yoga teacher to enrol in the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses?

You don’t have to be a yoga teacher to enrol in our Bliss Baby Yoga Courses, but you will get the most out of our courses if you have at least 6-12 months prior yoga experience.  A solid background in yoga means you’ll be more familiar with the basic yoga postures, practices and terminology.

And please note that our specific teacher training courses are designed as post-graduate study for qualified yoga teachers, or further learning for keen yoga practitioners who are undertaking, or plan to undertake, a full, minimum 200 hr general Teacher Training Course.

Our Bliss Baby Yoga teacher training courses are not alone designed to qualify graduates to teach prenatal / postnatal yoga classes to the public if they are not yet a qualified yoga teacher (having completed a minimum Level 1 / 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training).   We strongly recommend undertaking a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in addition to our specialised courses before teaching any public classes, so that you can be insured as a qualified yoga teacher .

We now offer several courses that are not specifically yoga teacher training courses and are accessible to anyone:

For our Doula Training  you do not need a background in yoga or yoga teaching to do this course.

We also offer our Fertile Bloom Program for Fertility and our Practical Yoga Philosophy for Parenthood courses that are suitable for anyone who has an interest in yoga or yoga philosophy.

What assessments do I need to complete for the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses?

For our online Yoga Teacher Training Courses you will need to complete the following tasks in order to receive your Completion Certificate:-

Online Quizzes

There are short, online quizzes between each module (or topic), within the course.  These are simple, multiple choice or ‘true/false’ questions that help consolidate your learning and ensure you’re understanding and retaining key points along the way.

Case Study Assignment / Written Assignment

At the end of the course content  you will be required to complete a written assignment.  For the Online Complete (Pre & Postnatal) Course and the Postnatal Course this is a ‘case study assignment’ in which you need to create a short written sequence for a designated ‘case study’.  For the Fertility Course this is a short sequence for a phase of the menstrual cycle appropriate for a student wishing to enhance their fertility.

For RPYT Courses and Doula Certification Module Only:

One-on-one Zoom Sessions

Once you’ve submitted your assignment(s) and your Bliss Baby Yoga Facilitator has had time to ‘mark’ it, you will be ready to schedule your personalised skype sessions with your facilitator.  In this session your Facilitator will give you valuable constructive feedback on your assignment(s) and it’s also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions about the course content.

You will be sent a booking link to book these manually via e mail once you upload your assingment/submission.

Feedback Form

Then, all you need to do is complete our Online Feedback Form (your feedback is soooo important to us!) and you will receive your Completion Certificate that you can either print out or keep digitally to send to registration bodies (eg: Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia) to gain all-important CPD (Continuing Professional Development Points).

Is there a time limit to complete the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses?

The beauty of our online teacher training courses, is that you can complete our courses in your own time, to fit around your other commitments. Each course has a set number of hours which is recorded on your certificate of completion (see individual course info pages for further details) – this is what we estimate it will take you to complete the course, including homework tasks, background reading, sample practices, and completing your final assignment.

Because we understand that you’re fitting this course around other commitments that may include yoga teaching, working, or being a mother, you have 12 months to complete each online course that you enrol in, but the videos, information and resources in the courses are downloadable (yours to keep forever). How you pace your study-load, that’s up to you, and what works best for your lifestyle.

We see this expiry as a benefit to you as it helps motivate you to finish your course by a given time just as you would a real time course.

Of course if you do need an extension, this is available for a small fee. You can find out more and purchase an extension here.

How does my live video call session for the RPYT course work?

Once you have worked through all the course content you will be required to complete and upload a written assignment which will then be marked by one of our Online Course Facilitators.  You will be sent a link to book a session with your facilitator via an online calendar. This will be sent to you manually so may not arrive immediately after uploading your assignment.

This video call session will be used to provide feedback on your assignment, and is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions that may have come up for you during the course – so we recommend writing down any questions you have prior to the video call to make the most of your session.

Once finishing your video call, you will receive an invitation to fill out a feedback form. Once completed you will be issued your certificate of completion.

Will the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses give me the confidence to teach and are they as good as in-person trainings?

It really depends on your learning style as to how effective online learning is for you.

Some people prefer a face-to-face, intensive style of training, whereas we have also had a great many teachers from all over the world who have enrolled in our online course and appreciate the flexibility it allows; they say they enjoy being able to study from home, at their own pace, in their own time, and that it enables them to do study around other work and family commitments, which may make it difficult for them to attend face-to-face training courses.

Our online graduates also say that the advantage of online study is the ability to have notes, audio and video recordings to refer back to at any time, something you can’t do after attending an in-person training.

There is of course a requirement of being self-motivated when completing distance education, and you will need to be able to set aside the time for study in your weekly routine.

To support their study we recommend that our online trainees join our Bliss Baby Yoga Facebook group where they can connect with fellow Bliss Baby Yoga trainees / graduates, so that if they have any questions along the way or upon completion of the training they have a network of teachers who have trained or are working in this specialised field to ask questions or advice of. Being part of the Bliss Baby Yoga facebook community also helps our trainees feel connected and supported, and not so alone.

Many of our graduates say how pleasantly surprised they are that our online courses successfully combine both theoretical and practical learning making them a good-equal to face-to-face learning.

Our Bliss Baby online courses are delivered through a range of different learning mediums, including some / all of the following:

  • audio lectures
  • PDF manuals / handouts
  • demonstration and class videos
  • video lectures
  • video sample practices (asana)
  • audio sample practices (pranayama / meditation / visualisation)
  • sample sequences (illustrated)
  • short quizzes (to test and integrate your knowledge)
  • written assignment (to test and integrate your knowledge)
  • 1-on-1 Skype session with a Senior Bliss Baby Yoga course facilitator (interactive opportunity for question and answers)

The final assignment and Skype session allow our trainees to draw together the knowledge gained throughout the training and practically apply it, which we find is a very effective learning tool, and solidifies the knowledge by applying the principles of safely teaching prenatal / postnatal / fertility yoga to example ‘case study’ students.

In summary, we do find that our training is sufficient for graduates who are qualified yoga teachers to feel confident to go out and teach specialised women’s yoga classes upon completion of our online courses.

What is the difference between the standard Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga TT Course and the RPYT Certification Stream Course?

Our standard 65 hr core Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga TT Course qualifies you to become a highly confident, safe and knowledgeable teacher. This course allows you to register the hours as Continuing Education hours under Yoga Alliance.

Our RPYT Certification Stream Course invites you to go deeper into your training. Not only does it include the core course above, but also includes our Anatomy & Physiology Module, our Live Mentoring Sessions and RPYT Extension giving you 4 hours face to face with one of our (very approachable) senior teachers. This course comprises of 85 hours total and gives your registration as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher under Yoga Alliance.

If you’d like to know more about the benefits of RPYT registration please refer to this question under Accreditation .

Once I’ve purchased an online course how do I access my course?

Once you have registered and paid for your course, you’ll receive an email with your log-in details and a direct link to go ahead and log-in. If this is not your first purchase with us then login to your account as normal and you will find your new course will drop into your account.

Can I pay for the online courses in instalments?

We do offer payment plan options for our Online courses. You will see the payment plan options on the purchase pages.

You can also pay via After Pay or Klarna at the checkout.

Are your prices in Australian Dollars? If so, what is the conversion to my local currency?

All prices displayed on our website are in Australian Dollars (AUD). For customers located outside of Australia, prices will be converted to your local currency upon payment, either via PayPal, or your Credit Card company. (You won’t need to work out this conversion yourself). If you choose to pay via PayPal you may be able to see the amount in your local currency prior to payment. For your own information, a Google search can help you to check an approximate conversion of the amount in AUD to your local currency (eg. “$485 AUD in USD”). Please note – a small conversion fee may apply via PayPal or your Credit Card company.

I'm in a different time zone, how does this work for live calls?

We will send you a link to book into one of our mentors diaries. This link will automatically adjust to your current time zone, so you can choose a time that works for your schedule.

Accreditation

What accreditation will I receive on completion of the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses?

Upon completion of our online training courses graduates will receive a Completion Certificate noting the hours and content completed, which can be submitted for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia members.

Hours are ‘non-contact’ hours, and the content is ‘directly relating to yoga teaching’ (for the purpose of CPD point classification).

Can I get RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) registration with Yoga Alliance by completing the Online Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course?

The answer is yes!

We now have an online RPYT certification stream of 85 hours that gives you Yoga Alliance RPYT certification. You can find more information and enrolment here.

Am I qualified to teach Prenatal / Postnatal / Fertility Yoga classes following completion of the Bliss Baby Yoga online training if I'm not yet a yoga teacher but working in a related field (midwife, pilates teacher etc.)?

Our courses are essentially designed as ‘post-graduate’ study for qualified yoga teachers, however we do have trainees enrol in our courses who are not qualified yoga teachers but working in related fields of wellness / women’s health.

Our recommendation is to complete a general Level 1 (200 hr) Yoga Teacher Training course in addition to our specialised training to gain an in-depth understanding of the basic yoga postures and practices, teaching techniques, and anatomy and physiology, to best be able to apply your specialised knowledge of yoga for pregnancy / post-partum / fertility etc in public classes, and also so that you can be insured as a yoga teacher.

If you plan to incorporate your chosen specialised area of yoga for women (prenatal / postnatal / fertility yoga) under the umbrella of your current work in a related field, and you feel confident to do so, we recommend confirming that your current insurance will cover you to do so before offering any public group classes or private sessions.

As a Yoga Alliance and/or Yoga Australia member can I claim CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for the Bliss Baby Yoga online training courses?

Yes – upon completion of our online training courses, graduates will receive a certificate noting the hours and content completed, which can be submitted for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia members.

Hours for our online courses are considered as ‘non-contact’ hours, and the content is ‘directly relating to yoga teaching’ (for the purpose of CPD point classification).

Are the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses registered with Yoga Alliance?

Bliss Baby Yoga is a Yoga Alliance RPYS (Registered Prenatal Yoga School) and RYS-200 (Registered Yoga School).

Hours accrued completing our online courses can be submitted towards required CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for Yoga Alliance members.

Our specific RPYT Certification Stream will certify you as a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) under Yoga Alliance.

Why RPYT Certification?

Yoga Alliance are a world recognised body that sets the ethical and educational framework for yoga teachers and schools in order to ensure high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga teaching in communities around the world.

They offer differing types of yoga profession credentials, which serve as markers of high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable yoga teaching.

Their Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) status is seen as the ‘gold standard’ in the world of teaching Prenatal Yoga with some yoga studios requesting it as a pre-requisite of their teachers.

While our core Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training is sufficient by itself to become a highly competent and safe Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher, an RPYT certification gives you the highest possible credentials.

Do the Bliss Baby Yoga online courses certify me to be able to teach in the USA/UK?

Bliss Baby Yoga is registered with the international yoga body, Yoga Alliance, as a RPYS (Registered Prenatal Yoga School) and RYS-200 (Registered Yoga School).

We have had yoga teachers from all over the world complete our online training courses.

Upon completion of our Online training courses, graduates receive a certificate of completion, noting the content, hours, and date of completion, which can be submitted for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points for Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia registered teachers.

If you are registered with a particular local or international registration body you may like to contact your association or insurance provider directly to confirm if they recognise internationally based online teacher training – for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points or otherwise.

Continuing Professional Development

Can I claim CPD (continuing professional development) points for the Bliss Baby Yoga Graduate Extension Modules?

Yes – our Graduate Extension Modules are considered non-contact hours of study directly related to yoga teaching, and can be used for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours for Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia members. (Your receipt of purchase shows the course and hours completed through Bliss Baby Yoga and can be presented as documentation for your CPD points).

Current & Previous Students & Graduates

My access to my course has expired. Can I gain access again?

All our courses have 12 months access from time of purchase. If your access has expired within the last 12 months you can purchase an extension here for 1, 6 or 12 months.

We suggest if possible, you purchase the extension in advance if you know your course is expiring soon (the expiry will be on a pop-up when you login to your account).

The extension will be applied from when your course expires, so if your course expired 6 months ago you will need to purchase an extension of 12 months to give you 6 more months access.

If your course expired more than 12 months ago you can re-enrol at 50% of the current course price. We are constantly refreshing and upgrading our content, and with that prices also go up, so please don’t ask to access the course you purchased several years ago for free. This cost allows you heavily discounted access to what is a current course as well as certification.

Please e mail us via [email protected] for a 50% off coupon code with the name and e mail you originally enrolled under so we can find you in our records.

I lost my downloaded files from my course and my access has expired. Can I get access again to download them?

If you lost the files you downloaded from a course where your access has now expired, there are a couple of options to access them again.

Because we are constantly updating our courses, it’s not simple to just give you access to our current course.  It’s likely it has been updated and also gone up in price.

You can purchase an extension, but this will be applied from when your course expired which may not be worthwhile if it was over a year ago that your course expired.

If it’s the Prenatal and Postnatal Training, we do offer access to our 2015-2020 version of this course for $50, without certification. Please e mail with your details to [email protected] so we can find you in our records and send you the purchase link.

For access to any other courses, you can purchase twelve months access to our current courses for 50% of the current cost as a previous graduate. Again, please e mail us for a code.

I lost my certificate and no longer have access to my account. Can you send me a new one?

If you no longer have access to your account and have lost your certificate we will need to manually create one for you. We charge $15 for this as it costs our admin time to do this. There is only one fee regardless of how many certificates you need.

You can pay for a new certificate/s via this link.

Then be sure to e mail us with the name and e mail your account was in (if your name has changed please e mail us the account name so that we can find you in our records) and let us know that you paid the amount, to [email protected]. We will need to manually find you and create the certificate/s so we will get back to you within 1-2 business days.

Online Yoga Classes

Are the Bliss Baby Yoga Online Yoga Classes suitable for pregnant / postnatal women (new mothers)?

Yes, most definitely! Our online classes are suitable for pregnant women and new mothers, depending on the class.  For example, it’s not desirable for a pregnant woman to do one of the postnatal classes, and in some cases for a postnatal woman to do a prenatal class.

We do recommend that you have some prior experience in yoga to get the most out of practising these classes, and if in doubt about a particular posture (eg: alignment or positioning of prop), for your own safety and comfort, it is best to consult a qualified yoga teacher.

That said, we also would like to make a disclaimer that all Bliss Baby Yoga classes,  practices and courses (offered by Ana Davis and other Facilitators) are to be undertaken with care and we hold no responsibility for any injury or damage incurred.  In particular, if you have an injury, illness or other special circumstance such as being pregnant or early post-partum, we recommend you consult your health practitioner before undertaking any new form of exercise.

Do I need prior yoga experience to do the Bliss Baby Yoga Online Yoga Classes?

Some prior yoga practice experience is recommended so that you are familiar with basic yoga postures and how to move into postures safely (without the aid of trained teacher in the room looking on to assist). We recommend consulting your health care practitioner before commencing an exercise program during pregnancy or postnatally (see the disclaimer in the previous answer).

Are the Online Yoga Classes designed for yoga teachers as a teaching / professional development resource?

Yes – our online classes can act as a valuable resource for prenatal / postnatal / women’s yoga teachers who are looking for inspiration in relation to sequencing, languaging and cues.

Our ‘fly-on-the-wall’ Prenatal and Mums n Bubs Yoga classes are particularly valuable in seeing a real life class taught by Ana Davis with pregnant women / new mums and their bubs in attendance.

Can I download the online classes?

Yes!

All our online classes are downloadable to keep forever.

Once I’ve purchased an online class how do I access my class?

Professionally, I fell in love with the teaching of Restorative Yoga, it's my favorite Yoga style to teach, and I am very passionate about it and how I want to give it to my students.
