About this course
More than one in four couples worldwide experience infertility and of those a large majority experience the challenging journey of using IVF and other Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
Many women are beginning to realise that practicing yoga during this time provides them with physical and emotional support and can even enhance their reproductive health.
As a Yoga for Fertility teacher, it is important to have an understanding of the various types, terminology, treatments and possible side effects of ART that women will have experienced. By the time women come to a Yoga for Fertility class they will most likely have been on a rollercoaster of emotions, stress and physical challenges and will require sensitivity and understanding.
This module is designed as an extension to our Online Level 1 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training and Online Level 2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training courses. Presented by experienced Yoga for Fertility teacher Tanya Neate, this module will provide you with the knowledge you need to guide those who are undertaking IVF in a fertility yoga class. Having had to overcome her own fertility challenges, Tanya is a source of inspiration and experience. She brings light to whom a potential client is, what they may have already experienced and what they will be looking for in a fertility yoga class.
In this module Tanya details the specifics of tests and treatments women may be offered including IVF, IUI, medications and surgery and how yoga can support ART outcomes. You will find out which asanas are particularly beneficial for fertility as well as sample class plans, an audio visualisation and led pranayama.
This module, designed to accompany our Level 1 + Level 2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training Courses, will help you understand the journey of those undergoing ART, both from a medical and an emotional perspective, and how you can best support them during a fertility yoga class.
For an even deeper knowledge of this area, please refer to our Online Level 2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training Course which provides video sample classes for the stages of IVF and a deeper understanding of asana benefits for fertility.

Our Supporting IVF with Fertility Yoga Module is easy to navigate – it’s all clearly laid out and you don’t have to be a ‘techy’ person to figure it out!
This extension module consists of 3 modules, with a short quiz included at the end of the each module. The quizzes are designed to help you consolidate the knowledge we share with you. An 80% pass mark is required, but don’t worry, the quizzes are multiple choice/ true-false and you can re-do them as many times as you need to.
Once you’ve reviewed all the content and passed the quizzes, you just need to give us your feedback (your feedback is sooo important to us!) and then you’ll receive your Completion Certificate that you can either print out or keep digitally to send to registration bodies (eg: Yoga Alliance / Yoga Australia) to gain all-important CPD (Continuing Professional Development Points). The hours on your Completion Certificate for which you’ll be able claim CPDs are 5 non-contact hours.
A Completion Certificate (PDF electronic file) is provided once you’ve completed the course. The total course hours on this completion certificate is 5 non-contact hours.
Members of both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia are required to complete ongoing professional development to keep their membership current. By completing our Bliss Baby Yoga Online Extension Modules, teachers are able to accrue some of these necessary professional development hours as well as enhance their knowledge and skills in this specialised area of women’s health.
(The following information re: Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance requirements for CPD was true at the time of publishing – please check the Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance websites via links below to confirm their requirements).
For Yoga Australia members, 12 CPD points (Continuing Professional Development) must be accrued each year to keep your membership active. These can be accrued through contact or non-contact hours of study. Our Online Fertility Yoga & ART Module is non-contact study, however as our course includes an assessment component (online quizzes), for Yoga Australia members (as per their Continuing Education Policy) the hours spent completing our course are counted as contact hours, core to yoga teaching (1 point per hour). This Online Extension Module is 5 hours, so Yoga Australia members will accrue 5 CPD points.
For Yoga Alliance members, according to their Continuing Education Requirements, every 3 years starting from your initial date of registration, each RYT and E-RYT must complete and log a minimum of:
- 45 hours teaching yoga, and
- 30 hours of yoga related training that is directly related to one of the Educational Categories, of which:
- At least 10 training hours must be Contact Hours.
- No more than 20 training hours may be Non-Contact Hours.
Our Online Supporting IVF with Fertility Yoga Module (5 non-contact hours) can therefore cover 5 of the 20 non-contact hours of study and contribute to these CPD requirements.
PLEASE NOTE that our Bliss Baby Yoga training courses are designed as post-graduate study for qualified yoga teachers, and are not alone designed to qualify graduates to teach prenatal / postnatal / fertility / restorative yoga classes to the public if they are not yet a qualified yoga teacher (having completed a minimum Level 1 / 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training).
The pre-requisite to enrol in our courses is at least 6-12 months consistent prior yoga practice experience – so that you are familiar with the basic postures / practices / terminology and can therefore gain the most from this training. We strongly recommend undertaking a 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in addition to our specialised teaching before teaching any public classes, so that you can be insured as a qualified yoga teacher. We highly recommended undertaking this module in conjunction with or following completion of our Bliss Baby Yoga Online Level 1 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training course or equivalent study.

Who is this course for
This module offers valuable professional development for yoga teachers and associated health professionals who would like to deepen their understanding of IVF and other Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) including the terminology, treatments and possible side effects. You’ll learn the guidelines for teaching Yoga for Fertility classes with consideration of the possible emotional and physical states class participants undergoing ART treatment may be experiencing.
The information offered in this course can also be helpful for those who are on a journey to conceive, or undergoing IVF treatment themselves. This course can be undertaken for your own self knowledge and does not require you to be a pre-existing yoga teacher.
This module is an extension of the information included in our Online Level 1 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training course and Online Level 2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training course, and we highly recommend you study this module in conjunction with our Level 1 + Level 2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training courses. Our Level 1 Yoga for Fertility course provides a foundation for this module, and our Level 2 Yoga for Fertility course then builds on this Supporting IVF with Yoga for Fertility module – with recorded video sample classes for different stages of the IVF cycle included in our Level 2 Yoga for Fertility course.
This module also complements our Online Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training course and Online L1 & L2 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training course.
Course Teacher
Tanya Neate has spent over 10 years passionately pursuing knowledge of how to employ the power of yoga to support the fertility health of women. The journey began as a personal quest to find a way to overcome her own fertility challenges. What she discovered was so empowering and transformative, she wondered why fertility yoga classes were nowhere to be found!
It was this experience that inspired her dream to become a yoga teacher and share these practices with other women dealing with infertility. Tanya’s mission is to make fertility yoga classes as accessible as prenatal yoga now is.
Tanya has undertaken extensive hatha yoga teacher training and many specialised trainings in yoga for women’s health, including our Bliss Baby Yoga 100 hour Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training. She is a qualified and registered counsellor and is currently studying and working under mentorship in the field of yoga therapy.
Tanya runs weekly fertility yoga, prenatal yoga and postnatal mums and bubs yoga classes, as well as yoga for women’s health classes from her Melbourne-based studio Moon Tribe Yoga.
Tanya is a Skype facilitator for our Online L1 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training course, and lead presenter for our Supporting IVF with Fertility Yoga online module (an advance module from our L2 Yoga for Fertility Teacher Training course).
“The sessions with Tanya were informative, inspiring, and so lovingly presented, thank you.”
